Auckland Diocese Prayer for Vocations 

Almighty and every living God,
you sent you Son, our Lord Jesus Christ to be our Saviour, 
and chose men of humble beginnings to be his disciples and companions.
After His death, resurrection and ascension, He sent the Holy Spirit to be with them always,
so that the command to "go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" would be fulfilled in every age.
In our time and age, continue to send the Holy Spirit to inspire the young men of our time,
so that they will take up their crosses and follow Christ.
We pray for parents too, that they will always follow the example of the Blessed Virgin Mary,
the mother who selflessly offered her Son to do God's will, even if it meant a sword would pierce her heart.
Father, we pray for more vocations in this diocese, so that your sheep will never be without a shepherd.
Call the young men in our diocese to this vocation, and grant them the grace to repsond generously to love the Church just as Christ loves his bride.
We ask this though Christ our Lord. Amen.
Mary, Mother of priests, pray for us. Amen.
